Activities like yoga and stretching enhance flexibility, coordination, and balance, reducing the risk of falls. Not to mention, exercise is linked to a variety of mental health benefits – which is particularly important for individuals who experience a long winter with short days!

Doing hard and challenging activities with like minded people can make the process more enjoyable, easier to stay consistent, and gives you a place to dedicate yourself.
- Variety and Adaptation: Year-round exercise allows you to diversify your routine and try different activities, which can help prevent boredom and keep you motivated. There are hundreds of options to choose from! If you live in a place that experiences all 4 seasons, you may have to adjust the type of exercise you do based on weather conditions. But, your location may also give you access to forms of movement that others do not have! For example, if you live in Colorado, you have a chance to go skiing and/or snowboard. If you live in California or Hawaii, you have the chance to surf. For others, state parks and forest preserves provide great spaces to walk or run. Make the best of the seasons, landscape, and parks around you!
