Overview of our programming this week
This is the last week of the first part of this cycle. In this first part we have focused on two Power Lifts (Back Squat & Shoulder Press) mixed with Olympic Lifting. This has built up our posterior chain. We have built up to some pretty big sets to build those muscles. You’ve also seen more core work and accessory pieces for developing midline stability and overall leg strength. Next week is a 1-week break to reset and then prep for Part 2.
Strength/skill-work for this week:
Monday – None
Tuesday – Clean & Jerk
Wednesday – Front Rack BB Step-ups
Thursday – Back Squat
Friday – Shoulder Press
Saturday – Mini-pump Upper Body Posterior (extra time)
Monday is a double-double. 2 rounds of 2 sets each of lungs, double-unders and wall-walks. Tuesday is descending ladder of rowing and box jumps with a nasty burpee interrupter. Wednesday switches to an ascending ladder of the bike, kettlebell swings and push-ups. Partner up on Thursday for some farmer carries and toes-to-bar. Friday is a barbell chipper going from deadlifts to thrusters and everything in between. We finish the week with some interval training of double-unders and DB burpee deadlifts.
