Overview of our programming this week
We are into the third week of this strength cycle, which is broken down into two parts. In the first part, we are performing two Power Lifts (Back Squat & Shoulder Press) mixed with Olympic Lifting. The focus is on building the posterior chain.We are going to work through some big sets to build those muscles. There’s going to be more core work and accessory pieces for developing midline stability and overall leg strength. At the conclusion, we will take a 1-week break to reset and prep for Part 2.
Strength/skill-work for this week:
Monday – Squat Snatch
Tuesday – Front Racked Barbell Box Step-Ups
Wednesday – Back Squat
Thursday – Shoulder Press
Friday – None
Saturday – Mini-pump Arms/Core (extra time)
We start this LOTR themed week with a back grinding chipper of pull-ups, wall balls and muscle-ups. On Tuesday we hit it with a double couplet of the Echo bike and hang power cleans. On Wednesday we celebrate Carol’s birthday with ladder chipper of KBS and burpees preceded by a rowing buy-in and followed by a double-under cash-out. (For members wanting a birthday WOD, please make a request the month prior.) Thursday is a partner WOD of rowing and snatching. Friday we honor Veterans with our unique FTX four service tribute. Saturday’s menu gives you the choice of two grueling Hero WODs or an alternate with the mini-pump.
