Overview of our programming this week

Last week we started a new strength cycle, which will be broken down into two parts. In the opening cycle, we are performing two Power Lifts (Back Squat & Shoulder Press) mixed with Olympic Lifting. The focus is on building the posterior chain while training to embrace the monotonous journey of strength training. We are going to grind through some big sets to build those muscles. You will notice more core work and accessory pieces for developing midline stability and overall leg strength. At the conclusion, we will take a 1-week break to reset and prep for Part 2.

Strength/skill-work for this week:

Monday – None
Tuesday – Hang Squat Clean and Clean Grip Deadlift
Wednesday – Front Racked Barbell Box Step-Ups
Thursday – Back Squat
Friday – Shoulder Press
Saturday – Mini-pump Upper Body / Posterior (extra time)

On Monday, the workout is all bodyweight, i.e. running, air squats, push-ups and pull-ups. For Tuesday, we got a light posterior chain wrecker that will shock the lower body with slow twitch deadlifts and fast twitch box jump overs. Wednesday’s WOD combines rowing, push presses, T2B and an agility drill for a 5-round challenge. Thursday is supposed to be a lights-out work out where we want a solid 1x push for the day on a power clean and burpee couplet. Friday is a solid partner workout where strategy, transitions, turnover, and maintaining a non-stop effort will be key on double-unders, wall-walks, and lunges. We finish on Saturday with a 5 rounder of HSPUs, bench press and GHDs.

FTX Classes – We have the most extensive group class-based schedule of any facility in the area. See our schedule here.
