No Kids’ Class on Wednesday, 8/17

Overview of our programming this week

A new strength cycle begins this week, so the days with lifting will have shorter Metcons. Our cycle will have strength mixed with gymnastics movements. For the gymnastic skill, we will focus on muscle-ups and all the movements between (kip swing, transition, ring dip, press to hold). The gymnastics sessions will be performed after the workout and will have scaling options for all skill levels.

Monday – Snatch
Tuesday – GHD Hip Extension or Barbell Skull Crushers
Wednesday – Clean & Jerk
Thursday – Ring support
Friday – Lying DB Pullover or Elevated Toe Double Romanian Deadlift
Saturday – Multiple exercises for developing shoulders and glutes

For our workouts this week, on Monday, we start with a solid 10-round workout where athletes will try and keep consistent round times. Tuesday, we have a nasty combo, Bike and burpees. So, why not make it multiple sets to see if you can hold on? For Wednesday, we have a nasty little chipper with some heavier wall balls. A long, monostructural hero workout on Thursday will test your grit and grind. Friday, we end the week with some barbell cycling, double-unders, and sit-ups, where our grip strength will be tested.

FTX Kids’ Classes – We have classes for 8-13 year-olds Tuesday through Friday at 4:30pm.
