Overview of our programming this week
This week we start a new strength cycle. During the first half of the week, we will do short sets with little rest of front squats, deadlifts and bench press using bands. This will give us a very different stimulus where the resistance increases towards the top of the lift. Furthermore, the bands will also further stress our balancing and opposing muscles involved in each of these lifts. During the second half of the week, you will see back squats, presses, and deadlifts where you work up to your 1RM. This cycle will provide a comprehensive, multi-prong approach to gains!
Monday – Banded Front Squats and Deadlifts
Tuesday – Banded Bench Press
Wednesday – Cleans
Thursday – Back Squat
Friday –Shoulder Press
Monday’s WOD will work the legs and core with lunges and V-ups. Tuesday is a 20:00 AMRAP triplet of snatches, burpee box jump-overs and running. Wednesday is an ascending and descending ladder of S2O and pull-ups. Thursday is a fast triplet of Scotty Bobs, Jumping Jacks and Flutter Kicks. Friday will be a no measure day focusing on shoulder and core work. Saturday is the HYROX Physical Fitness Test. Enjoy this week!
