USA Weightlifting Level 1 Course
Oct 2 at 9:30 AM – Oct 3 at 2:30 PM
In this two-day course, participants will gain practical information about how to safely and effectively teach how to snatch, clean, squat, and jerk as well as how to best utilize weightlifting movements for beginner lifters and sport performance athletes.
Course Schedule:
– Day 1: 9:30am to 5:30pm and Day 2: 9:30am to 2:30pm

Our class schedule that weekend for those not participating in the USAW L1 Course will be:
– Saturday, October 2: 7am and 8am classes
– Sunday, October 3: 8am class

Overview of our programming this week
This week we start our third cycle of the 5-3-1 strength program. (For those desiring to know more about the why and how behind this strength program, a simple internet search will provide you with a wealth of material.) This week:
Monday = Bench / Tuesday = Deadlift / Wednesday = Core / Thursday = Shoulder Press / Friday = Back Squat
The Metcons this week are all, except for one, for time. This means the amount of work to be completed is fixed, and how long it takes is dependent on you. Other than that, you will see a variety of round and rep schemes. The exercises in the Metcons are quite varied this week. The only movement that is repeated are everyone’s favorite – burpees, but in various iterations.

FTX Kids’ Classes – We have classes for 8-13 year-olds Tuesday through Friday at 4:30pm.

#FTXHomeWODs – We have plenty of gear for those of you that want to do some of these workouts at home, whether that is because of childcare situations, health reasons, schedule conflicts, or whatever. We can loan out all sorts of equipment, including rowers and barbells. We can also do personal training sessions with you in your driveway/yard/garage or via Zoom. If this is your situation, then please reach out to us so we can get you all setup!
